What they say about Julia

“Julia was the safest, caring and most professional pair of hands I could have possible placed my life into. She skilfully and successfully lead me through what was undoubtedly the worst two years of my life which was especially exasperated by being in the full grip of the pandemic which itself threw up untold challenges to overcome.” Ms G, Devon

Experience

Julia has over thirty years’ experience handling matrimonial cases and has a keen interest in reaching solutions for clients in a constructive and outcomes focussed way.  She can be tough and robust when this is required but is also very caring and approachable.

Julia deals with all aspects of relationship breakdown including divorce, negotiating and drawing up Consent Orders relating to financial settlements, dealing with Court proceedings for financial aspects of divorce including dealing with complex matters involving businesses.  Although Julia acts for clients in all locations, she has acted for many clients in the West Country, where she is based, and she has built up a particular expertise in dealing with farming cases.

Julia has a particular interest in cases involving unmarried parties, where the laws relating to property and financial matters are very different. She is happy to advise clients of their rights and negotiate settlements for them.  Cases have included claims under TOLATA where there are multiple properties involved and also cases for unmarried parents involving disputes over housing and capital needs of children.

Julia also advises clients on how to make arrangements for their children after separation and to negotiate Parenting Agreements.  Where arrangements cannot be agreed, she will act for, and guide, clients through the Court process.

She is happy to assist clients who wish to deal with some aspects of their case themselves, including  providing advice to litigants in person in children cases and, where appropriate, in financial cases.  She will act for clients in all locations and advise on any aspect of family breakdown.
