What they say about Jane

I have had the privilege of working with Jane Bunch, both directly and indirectly through legal colleagues and business and technology client personnel, on a wide range of technology and intellectual property transactions and contracts. These have included international licensing and joint venture projects with related proprietary product and services contracts, research services and collaboration contracts, IP aspects of M&A deals and others. Jane is a highly experienced and accomplished advisor, contract drafter and negotiator with interpersonal and communication skills that make her a valued team player. Equally importantly, her proactive approach to efficient and cost-effective project and workload management and administration have made her a trusted colleague and I have enjoyed working with her.” Stephen L. Hensley, retired Managing Counsel, Global IP, BP America

Experience

Jane is an intellectual property law specialist with over 15 years experience. She has advised clients on a broad range of commercial intellectual property matters, drafting and negotiating contractual arrangements and providing strategic advice on the acquisition, maintenance, use and exploitation of intellectual property rights.

Her client base ranges from multinational companies to SMEs and individuals. Jane has undertaken long term secondments at BAE Systems plc and BP plc, working as a member of their in-house intellectual property teams, helping streamline procedures and working closely with the business teams. Jane fully understands the value of intellectual property within the context of a particular business and the associated concerns and issues, providing workable, commercial solutions.

Jane’s scientific background enables her to understand a client’s technology, not just the rights protecting it. She advises clients on all intellectual property rights, including patents, confidential information, know-how, trade marks, copyright and designs. She has extensive experience of assignments, licensing, confidentiality, research and development, university and industry collaborations, grant funded research projects, working with spin out companies during their inception and subsequent activities, advising companies on best practice in relation to their intellectual property, diversification, material transfer, technology transfer, intellectual property strategy and services agreements.

She also has widespread experience of trade mark and branding advice, portfolio management, merchandising, co-ownership, sponsorship, franchising and intellectual property aspects of joint ventures, employment and consultancy agreements.
