THE SPLITTING HEADACHE – FAMILY LAW PODCAST
ABOUT THE PODCAST
Divorce and separation can be brutal for all involved – especially for the children. But is it possible to divorce or separate well? Can couples find solutions which work for everyone, in the best interests of their children?
Joanna Abrahams is one of the country’s top family lawyers and a director of Valemus Law. In this series of brilliant podcasts (also released as video podcasts on YouTube), she talks to broadcaster Nick Coffer about divorce and separation in a refreshingly frank and open take on how to manage the process better. The advice she gives is second to none, sharing all her experience, insight and expertise.
They cover important questions, such as parental alienation and how to avoid it, how to agree contact arrangements, what is the impact on children of parental hostility and what steps can be taken to minimise it, how can finances be managed in a calm and measured way, can mediation help, and what happens if you are left with no choice but to make an application to the Family Court.
This is high quality advice, condensed into podcasts which will be vital for anyone going through, or facing going through, divorce and separation.
The first series will contain 6 episodes. Make sure you follow/subscribe to the series to be notified when each episode comes out. Episodes will be released every two weeks. The first episode, covering the question of parental alienation in depth, is available now. The next episode will be called “When Will I See My Children ?” and episode three looks at the impact of parental hostility and conflict on children in divorce and separation.
