With the Queen celebrating the Platinum Jubilee, Manisha Hurchurn wrote about how family law has been transformed since the 2002 Golden Jubilee.

The article by Manisha, who is a family and children law specialist at Valemus Law, was published by Today’s Family Lawyer.

In her piece, Manisha explains the legal changes regarding parental responsibility brought about by the Adoption and Children Act 2002, which amended the Children Act 1989. She also details how new terms to describe arrangements for children have been introduced, due in at least some part to legislation.

Manisha outlines the effect of legal aid cuts and the possible implications of Brexit for family law. She also focuses on the introduction of the no-fault divorce regime.
